Shipping error on checkout

I just installed the PayPal express module and it is in test mode and am having a problem processing a test order. I have shipping setup to be free for any order amount to all domestic addresses and military locations. When I go to check out it shows my information and address, which is domestic, and shipping shows the free shipping but when I click to continue so it will take me to PayPal to "pay" I get an error saying that I must choose a shipping method.

Please help!

Say that there is only one method available. When at that page and attempting to move forward is the free shipping radio button selected?

I thought also there was a notification when paypal is in testing mode that some shipping options may not function. Have you tried this in a non paypal testing mode?

PLEASE READ ON TO SAVE YOU BUSINESS FROM ANOTHER VERY BAD PAYPAL BUG!!!!!!!

I have had this exact problem in my version 1.51.

I have tried everything i know to fix the problem, i just use one shipping method, per item shipping. I found the problem occurs when you add and delete products from the shopping cart then move forward to payment. It also occurs when you log back in to your account and say add another product to a saved cart, the changed shipping error message comes up and the process goes in to a loop where you can't move forward to confirm your order payment.

This only occurs when selecting PayPal as the payment method in the full checkout process and you change the shipping by add or deleting products during checking out.

I also found problems when using express checkout but i know about the POODLE problem.

When selecting another payment method such as 2checkout the problem did not happen with the shipping warning message, so i guessed it must be a bug with the express PayPal module.

I took this problem to my so called zen cart expert and all they could come up with is to delete the warning message, but this did not fix the problem.

Waste of time and MONEY they were sacked immediately.

I don't know how much lost business this problem has caused me along with the PayPal express checkout fiasco, but it would be a large amount of $$$.



I bet there are hundreds if not thousands of users out there that don't even know they have this problem.

My temporary FIX:

I uninstalled the PayPal express checkout and installed the standard PayPal module. This fixed the problem completely and i can say 100% this has saved my business from going under. I wonder how many have lost their businesses because of this sneaky BUG. The only thing i don't have now is express checkout and the way that functions nowadays i don't think that is much of a loss.

Has Dr Byte mentioned anything about this problem and a possible fix anywhere else on this forum. Could someone bring this to his attention that knows how????? I see this thread is short did anybody find an answer to this very serious problem in the PayPal express checkout payment module.

I hope this can at-least help anyone who reads this with version 1.51 upwards and checks their cart to see if they have this business destroying BUG.

Only thing is that the most recent poster acknowledges the poodle issue, but appears to have had a problem related to the "standard" process of PayPl payment I believe after the guest has had initial interaaction with PayPal through PayPal Express, but then the contents of thhe cart are revised. It is my understanding that any such change requires communication with PayPal again (regardless of shipping options) and then a final approval/communication to identify/approve the shipping cost(s). But for some reason the guest is never able to finally confirm the order as identified by the most recent poster.

Of course there are many things that have not been sufficiently identified to repeat the problem/help others provide informative solutions. (See the posting guidelines) perhaps implementing the modifications of theabove post(s)/thread will resolve, seeing that at least when this began is not identified, nor other plugins, modifications made to the site, the origin of the ZC install, etc...
