Generate 2000 Gift Codes?

I would like Zen Cart to generate 2000 codes to that I can send them to various customers without using the mail to feature in the program. The codes would be gift certificates worth a few bucks per code.

Anyone know how to generate codes manufally without going it one by one through the system?

Not sure how php savvy you are, but there is a function in:

admin/includes/functions/general.php

that generates coupon codes.

you could run a while() loop that generates x number of coupons.

Is there a place where coupon codes are stored and I can just make up codes and add them to that storage? How can this be achieved. I need thousands of gift codes a month. Doing it one by one is insanity. Thanks
