I know this has been discussed in length, many times, but I wanted to hear the most current opinions. I want a banner/slideshow on my home page because I'm not good with web design and my home page needs something to pop, and I also need to promote certain products and specials. It would be nice to have some good transitional effects available, but not not mandatory. It would be nice to have some easy controls in my admin section. My concern: I have a modified template, and I don't want to change any (or as little as possible) core files. One more thing... I have my website to a floating size instead of fixed. If I HAVE to, I will fix the size, but I don't really want to... Is anyone reading this familiar with any of these, do you have any suggestions or experiences with the ones I found, or do you recommend any other one(s)? I found 'jQuery Banners' , 'Frontpage Slideshow' , 'Slides JS Slide show' , 'Nivo Slider' , and 'ZX Slideshow'. Thanks, any opinions or advice would be appreciated!!!!

ZX Slideshow has plenty of admin control options. But why not set up a test site and do just that, test the slideshows.

If it were me, I set up the site base.. then make a backup of the DB and files.. You can probably get away with JUST a backup of the mainsite/includes and mainsite/admin folders only. Then you can install and test a slideshow.. when you're ready to test the next one restore the DB and the mainsite/includes and mainsite/admin folders and install the next slideshow..

Well, one might say I'm somewhat familiar with ZX Slideshow and, if you're a beginner and want admin control, then I'd recommend using it. If you have any problems with it, just post your question in the Support Thread and I'll be happy to assist you.

Thanks everybody.. I swear, ZenCart ALWAYS has the best people involved with it.. best forum participants and code writers ever. I'll take all of the advice above.. Any other comments are welcome as well because I won't get a chance to do any of this until next week.
