My site has recently dropped out and coming up with a message (below)

I have NO IDEA why this has happened and I get the same message at the catapult site too? Can anyone tell me how to restore my webpage (in lamens terms please!!!)

Hello. Thank you for loading Zen Cart™.

You are seeing this page for one or more reasons:
1.This is your first time using Zen Cart™ and you haven't yet completed the normal Installation procedure.
If this is the case for you, you will need to upload the "zc_install" folder using your FTP program, and then run zc_install/index.php via your browser (or reload this page to see a link to it).

    2.Your /includes/configure.php and/or /admin/includes/configure.php file contains invalid path information and/or invalid database-connection information.
If you recently edited your configure.php files for any reason, or maybe moved your site to a different folder or different server, then you'll need to review and update all your settings to the correct values for your server.
See the Online FAQ and Tutorials area on the Zen Cart™ website for assistance.
3.Additional Details: includes/configure.php file contents invalid. ie: DIR_FS_CATALOG not valid or not set

    To begin installation ...
1.The Installation Documentation can be read by clicking here: Documentation
2.You will need to upload the "zc_install" folder using your FTP program, and then run zc_install/index.php via your browser (or reload this page to see a link to it).
3.The Online FAQ and Tutorials area on the Zen Cart™ website will also be of value if you run into difficulties.

    ......
If your site has been working ok up until now then someone must have tinkered with your configure.php file(s) or your DB has been renamed, removed etc....

Suggest to first restore the configure.php files one by one from your backup (you did back them up???), store side first. Then see if the site loads. If it does and you have not made any changes at all yourself then it may be possible that outside forces have tampered with these files (hack, host.....)

If the site still does not load then check that your DB has not been tampered with and restore a backup.

Failing all of that I would ask my host to restore a server side backup (good hosts do that automatically in the background on a daily basis - at least my Sydney based server people do exactly that).

    Cheers / Frank

And don't forget the configure.php file(s) should be set to permissions 444 or even 400.

That welcome page almost always results from #2 - wrong path information in the configure.php file(s).

    Can you access admin?

    What is a 'catapult site'?

Please post the contents of includes/configure.php after Xing out the database name, user and password fields.

    1. stevesh also asked you to post a copy of your /includes/configure.php ... with the password blanked out.

    2. While you're sorting all this out, go and do a backup of your database and your PHP files, as explained here: http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?...atabase-backup
You'll want all that saved for safe-keeping, just in case something goes amuck in the process of fixing whatever suddenly has gone wrong.

And, for the record, it looks like your hosting company won't be much help if they're blaming Zen Cart ... when your site's been running okay up until this "sudden" problem.

How do I get in to any of that if I can't access my admin area? Happy to provide my password and login if you need it to try to access? Is there a way I can private message/email it to you?

Those things are done from your hosting company's control panel for your website.
