Default Which database is the right one in phpMyAdmin?

Hi - I've had many Zen Cart developers work on my cart over the years. I went to do a backup via phpMyAdmin and found 10 Zen Cart databases listed. Is there any way to find out which one is actually live on my site so I only need to do one backup? I wasn't able to see dates within the Structure tab, and I couldn't find the database name in Zen Cart admin either. Once I figure out which is the right one, can the others be deleted from phpMyAdmin?

    Thanks for any advice :)

Somewhat for security, the database is not identified in the admin panel; however, if you look in the file that is in your admin folder, includes directory called configure.php there should be an entry that includes the database name. Though, truly the one that is ofpossibly most concern is what is listed in the store's includes directory also called configure.php.

As for removal of the others, probably should ask for assistance from your host to ensure that the information (particularly of an older version of ZC that potentially included financial data) is securly and completely erased.

Glad that helped. While you are on the clean up frenzy, you may want to make sure that there is only one store that has been attempted to be installed in te current database. Ie the admin table is listed more than once, each time with a different prefix. (Absence of a prefix is still a prefix. )

Great point! The more I dig through this, the more I'm seeing remnants of previous carts, old folders still left on the server, etc. It's a bit of a mess and hard to navigate through the correct files. I'm not very technical, so it might need to leave everything as-is so I don't delete something by mistake. Thanks again for your help.

Welcome. Backups are your friend. There are a number of relatively non-technical ways
To figure out what must stay and what can go. There's a relatively simple "plugin" that shows the override directory structure as well as the basic directory structure. (Other directories are either not applicable or were created by a "needed" plugin.

I would always say make a complete local copy of everything (you can export all the databases in one go from phpMyadmin) and leave your working shop well alone until you have cleaned up the local fileset and db. Synchronize the files remote/local with Beyond Compare.

Wonderful! I didn't realize you can back everything else at once - that worked perfectly. Thank you both for your assistance :)

Glad to help. Hopefully as you tinker on the test version of your site, you'll become more comfortable. :)
