Admin login failure notice

I compared my username and admin to whats on the database and it matches.

I am refused entery and keep getting an email that says the following: Please advise.

SUBjECT: Admin login failure notice‏

Important Notice: There have been multiple unsuccessful login attempts to
your administrative account. For your protection and for system security,
after 6 attempts the account will be locked for a minimum of 30 minutes,
during which you will be unable to login even if you remember your password.
Continued attempts to login will continue to lock the account for another 30
minutes. You will not be able to do password resets during this time.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

I can't believe that we have to go through all this just to log in or change our passwords. OK I accept that some times we do forget our passwords and I understand that this is one way getting through the back door but it is ridiculous that this ever happens so frequently.

Mostly not by NOT remembering the passwords but entering the wrong password as it is frequently changed thus resulting password resent followed by limited expiry time given to enter the details thus expiring time limit..... Now go back and re read the same sentence again and you'll see what I mean. . I don't remember my bank renewing my password this often.

Why don't Zencart give us the choice how long admin can stay in admin and how often passwords may expire?

The same reason the banks force you to change them.... because people will always do stupid things is allowed to.

FWIW, Zen Cart v1.5.3 give you back the control over whether you want the PA-DSS admin session timeout and/or password rules enforced (Configuration->My Store settings).
