Can I set up subcategories under subcategories?

I open a category, go to one of its subcategories, then the 'new category' button is no longer available.

Is it not possible to go three deep with categories?

Example: Shoes > Mens Shoes > Mens Sneakers

If you have added PRODUCTS to a sub-category, then you will not be able to create another sub-sub-category there. You first have to REMOVE the products. You can only create sub-sub-categories (as many levels as you wish), if the parent category is empty of products.

If I want to create a new sub-sub-category - and there are products in the parent category, I MOVE the products (temporarily) to a different category. Then, when the parent category is empty of products, the "Create Category" link re-appears.

I've also seen the new category button appear if all of the products are disabled in the current category. Only needing one move rather than two, although there is the risk of something going wrong in the process and if the product(s) remain could prevent seeing the new category in the listing, but that is "true" either way.

I'd call that a bug , since there are still products (albeit disabled) in the category so sub-category additions shouldn't be allowed.

As a result, I questioned my own previous post. Tested on zc 1.5.1 I went to the end of a category tree that was disabled, added a disabled product. When I returned to the category listing, I had both add a product and add a category buttons provided. Am able to click on add a category; however, I do also have on the left side of the screen the disabled product. When I added the category it was active and the disabled product were both present.

I do have at least one plugin that has changed the appearance of the categories.php file, I don't know though if it is/was an appearance only modification yet.

The bug part I would say is that after I had activated the category by inserting it, I was able to activate the product... I don't consider it a problem for the product to be there as long as it isn't active while the category is. Or perhaps if either type is active that the other is inactive... It seems to me the bug is that both can be enabled at the same time with either being active first.
