Customers can not be edited

The only problem with customers now is this. If I select any random customer, screen 'jumps/refreshes' to the page where the customer is without the blue arrow pointer/selector. At the same time same ting happens with the right hand column despairing totally. On another random selection of a customer blue arrow pointer points to the correct customer and right hand column stays as normal.

Does this indicate some sort of customer details NOT been consistent? All the customers are there listed under the 'Customers' with identical field information.

Any ideas on this?
