Re: Advanced Attributes question
Boca,
Have you heard anything on this? I have a similar issue. So I will bump your bump ;)
Can't post our 1.53 site yet as it is still in test, but on my live site (v1.50), I have half a dozen products with a zero base price as, like your greenhouses, the attributes can have a huge impact on price.
I don't want to list the expensive item with a discount for a cheaper model, since the customer might be turned off by the high ticket item before they actually get to the product level. Similarly, I don't want to seem to be employing a bait and switch tactic by listing a starting at lowball price, and then giving them a much higher price, when they see the product they actually wanted. For one particular product the most popular version IS the most expensive, but with that said, we still sell many of the lower tiered option. BTW, multiple products is not the answer either as except for one simple (albeit financially important) attribute these are the same product. I don't want excess clutter in the shop by listing what is essentially the same product 3-6 times.
Setting the price to zero worked perfectly in 1.50, but it is giving me all kinds of dramas in 1.53. Not sure it this is new template related, but I think not.
I know I will hear send us the links, but at the moment I can't as there is too much being tested on the test site that MIGHT impact this issue. I'm just hoping that someone sees that there is some issue with how 1.51 + handle priced by attributes . . .
Oh and if it offers any clues, what happens with these products in the test site is that they lose the template formatting if they have a zero price.
