Default Database migration trouble moving from 1.3.8a to 1.5.1

I am upgrading my zen cart from 1.3.8a to 1.5.1, because I was moving from one hosting to another I installed 1.5.1 from scratch and performed the following

    during setup I
    1. created a database in 1.5.1

    using admin I
    2. created categories in 1.5.1
    3. created a product listing in 1.5.1

using Godaddy database management tool I
    4. downloaded a csv file for the new products database file
    5. downloaded a csv file from the old products database file
    6. merged the two files making changes to the old data based on the new format
    7. uploaded the merged file into the new database
    8. edited the products to categories database file to include all my product numbers and the category number.

when I go back to admin panel and go to categories it shows the right amount of products in each
when I go to products admin it only shows the original products I entered none of the products i put in the products database show up.

Anyone have any Idea as to why.

Any reason you are not just using the Zen Cart method for upgrading the database (zc_install)? This process is far easier than trying to "import" / "export" / "update" the database by hand.

The glass is not half full. The glass is not half empty. The glass is simply too big!
Where are the Zen Cart Debug Logs? Where are the HTTP 500 / Server Error Logs?

In addition, with Zen Cart v1.5.3 now available, why are you going through the effort to upgrade to v1.5.1 (a 2-year-old distribution)? You're just doubling your efforts, since v1.5.3 includes the changes necessary for PHP versions 5.4 and later.

    There are reason
godaddy sets up 1.5.1 with its database for free 1.5.4 isn't available yet
the other site was moded and I don't want dual pricing anymore
I could just re inter the products by hand, I only have 44 but
transferring customer accounts worked fine so I thought this would to

Did you mean that php 5.4 isn't available yet or that Zen Cart 1.5.4 isn't available yet?

And so their "install" it is a full set of the files? No changes, no autoinstaller?
