Default Completing POODLE fix for PayPal

I have completed the suggestions of commenting out the "CURLOPT_SSLVERSION, 3" as suggested in another post however, the instructions I received from PayPal tell me to add TLSv1 (example CURLOPT_SSLVERSION to CURL_SSLVERSION_TLSv1). My question is do I need to do this also or is the commenting out enough to fix the POODLE issue?

I am not the most computer savvy person, but do well with detailed instructions.

And another note, yes I know I should update this version and I will when I get the courage to do so. I do have another site using 1.5.1 and PayPal did not notify me of POODLE issue with this one. I did go ahead and comment out the 2 instances of SSL3 even though they were for authorize.net.

Thanks for your patience with my first ever forum post and any help you can provide me.

Not for nothing, but Dr Byte is one of the developers of Zen Cart.. I think I trust what he has to say on what needs to be done to address the issue in Zen Cart over PayPal's (or anyone else's) instructions..

So the short answer is IF you followed the advice in the Dr Byte thread (assuming this is the post you are referring to), yep, that's all you need to do..

and the change needs to be made REGARDLESS as to which version of Zen Cart you are running.. The Poodle bug isn't going to CARE what version of Zen Cart you have installed..
