Default Goh Koon Hoek's Zen Cart Manual

    Hi to all.

I would like to get some literature or a guide on the basics of Zen Cart and the e-start book advertised on the home page would seem like a good place to start. Can anyone who knows about the book offer any information as to whether this would be ok for learning about Zen Cart 1.5.4 or would the book be dated now?

I know the forum is a great place to gather knowledge but if I asked every question I have regarding Zen I'd probably get banned for being a pest :)

Just looking for a sit down read that will walk me through some basic coding, file structures and customisation, etc. If anyone has any other input or suggestions as to what I could read to improve my understanding of Zen Cart I'd love to hear your thoughts !

    Thank You in advance!

    Kind Regards

    James.

The book is a guide for *using* Zen Cart ... ie: how to configure its settings to handle everything you need for both initial setup and day-to-day use (categories, products, taxes, order handling, languages, currencies, attributes, specials/sales, featured products, including everything you can do in the admin). Its comprehensive coverage of all administrative functionality makes it well worth having on-hand.
Even if you get the v1.5.3 edition, it's still relevant for a v1.5.4 site.

It is not a guide on writing PHP or customizing functionality or writing/changing/editing templates. Use the forum for that.
It does cover the basics of language-file editing when you want to change the store to say "widgets" instead of "products", etc.

It's not a guide on how to operate a webserver. Consult your hosting company for that.
