Creating a new product type

Hi There!

What I am wanting to do is create an entire new product type with new style= with each of them

For example, If i wanted to create a new product type for doors, and I wanted new tpl_product_info_display.php for the doors type, How woudl I go about this.

Can anyone point me in the direct of a tutorial or a similar thread with someone else doing it?

Okay, So I have been looking at that thread along with many others and I have done everything to make a new product. The only problem type. The problem I am having is that when I try to create a new product under that type I am getting a 404 error.

I have checked that the file /admin/product_name.php is there for the type handler.

What else could cause this? I have the correct product handler in the database ect. I am not getting any error logs

ANy help would be awesome!

Sorry update! I figured it was simply because when I was uploading all my files to the root of my server not the public_html file. I feel like an idiot now!

But I have got it sorted!
