Email Notification Not Working All Of A Sudden

Everything has been working fine through Thursday, February 5, 2015...orders received, I get notified via email as per normal. Then, today, Tuesday, February 10, 2015 we received 2 orders but no email notification. I only noticed them because I regularly view my Admin screen. The only email we received was from PayPal Express payment. Does anyone have an idea why my Zen Cart notifications aren't working all of a sudden?

My email settings, which I haven't touched in months and months, are as follows:

Send Copy of Order Confirmation Emails To Phil<[email protected]>, Pam<[email protected]>

I know this may be sketchy, but I don't know what other info to provide, so if I need to provide more, please let me know and I will try to help you help me.

One other thing: The mails did not show up on the server either.

Zen Cart only sends order-confirmation emails when all the steps of payment and post-payment complete properly.
You said you got an email from PayPal, so that means the payment went through, thus there's something failing after that step.

You didn't list all the addons/plugins/mods you've put on your site, or your PHP version, so it's hard to suggest where one of those might be a factor.

You also didn't indicate whether you had tried to make a purchase from your own store to confirm whether there are any errors or blank-page symptoms occurring during or after checkout.

Also, did you look into the /logs/ folder for the presence of any myDebug-xxxxxx.log files, which record all PHP errors happening on your site?

If it's "suddenly failing" then that suggests perhaps something's wrong with one or more files in your /includes/classes or /includes/modules/payment or /includes/modules/pages folders. But that's just a very wild guess. The myDebug logs will be far more useful.

My php version is 5.3.10 and I currently have the following add-ons: CEON Manual Card, CEON URI Mapping (not operational), Column Layout Grid, COWOA, css3 buttons, Flexible Footer (not operational), Image Handler (not operational), Simple Google Analytics.

We've rarely seen that issue occur, but that part of the code was rewritten in v1.5.2 because we encountered that error in some testing while rewriting other parts of password management.

Proceeding with your upgrade to v1.5.4 will fix the problem and stop that specific message from appearing.

In the interim, a bandage is to edit line 118 of the mentioned password_funcs file and change it as shown:

    $entropy = sha1_file(DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'includes/configure.php');
