Disappearing Text

I've been experiencing major problems with trying to update/add new listings. Text keeps disappearing. It started about a month ago. Since I bought the site 2 years ago I've come across a few glitchy listings - coding problems that my programmers fixed, mostly. At first, when I lost text the programmers managed to recover it. (I was updating listings and I checked the site to see how it looked to customers, the text was gone (picture but no text). Sometimes when I'd hit the Back button to re-edit the text was already gone. Now, they can't even recover text, they say there's nothing there. It's been passed along to Hosting to see if it's a security issue, but I haven't heard anything.

I've tried listing in IE, FF & Chrome. Used my desktop & laptop. Even disabled the virus program. Nothing has made a difference.

My programmer can't figure out why this is happening or how to resolve it. They've suggested that it might be because I C&P text from Word, but now it happens even when I just change quantity & hit the Activate button so that seems unlikely.

If anyone has an idea for how to resolve this, I'd be thrilled to pass it to my programming team!

One more thing: We're in the middle of upgrading to the new ZC version, but I've been waiting to finalize, because, well, one problem at a time.

Upgrading should fix the problem. Zencart 1.3.X isn't compatible with PHP 5.5.

Not sure this is relevant, but I just tried (yet again) to edit one of my problem child listings in Chrome and got: Mozilla < 1.3 Beta is not supported! This comes up fairly often.

Are you using any type of HTML editor installed into the admin? CKeditor or other?

I asked and they did try disabling the editor. It had no effect. But thanks for the suggestion.
