VAT not calculating on Checkout

Hi

I've just installed 1.5.4 with Winchester Responsive Template (Thanks Anne @ Picaflor Azul) and also installed the dual pricing module & Inc/ex Vat.

Previous site was 1.5.3 with Sheffield Blue Responsive, Dual Pricing + a shed load of other plug ins - had no issues there.

I've made the new site live and only just realised that VAT isn't calculating on checkout. All zones etc seem ok - I've deleted and reinstalled/set them up several times now. For the life of me I can't figure out why VAT isn't working.



It could be the dual pricing add-on and I'm currently working through the changed files again to double check those. If anyone has any ideas on the issue it would be appreciated.

Well, for one thing it's more than just a missing vat. There's 22 cents additional in the total that are not accounted in the values above...

Don't know if you still have a test site where you could attempt making different changes, but may want to install the vat tax portion without the other plugin to validate that it works properly with the product, and might actually suggest installing the other alone or then merging the two... As installed, there are a few changes to core code necessary unless it has been updated to not need those changes...usually an issue with paypal...

Turn off both Dual Pricing and Inc/Ex Vat and retest. If it works, turn these mods on one at a time and retest. Right now there are too many variables.

Removed Inc/Ex VAT - no change. Ran DualPricing SQL removal file (cart crashed) - ran install file. VAT calculates on normal customers now but not on the other options I have (1=admin, 2=dealer, 3=club member pricing).

Going to work through the file changes again to see what I missed.

Suggestion offered by swguy was to disable not to try to uninstall. Removing the sql without removing the associated files would likely cause the "cart crash" described.. Turning off should ideally remove the incorporated functionality... But looks like you may have found part of your issue...

What about taxes? --------------------------------- By default, your Retail customers (level 0) will be charged sales tax, and wholesale customers (level 1+) will not be charged any sales tax. If you would like to charge taxes to EVERYONE, then do not include the following file in your installation (or, revert this file back to the original that comes with Zen Cart): includes\classes\order.php

Please accept my apologies. Might be worth leaving the thread however in case anyone else is as dim as me and doesn't read the install guide properly ;-)
