Adding shipping to the cart summary and total

I would like to add a shipping amount and full order total to the cart summary page.

Does anyone know how i can add this, so far only currently have the sub-total?

preferably would like to have the postage options within a drop down box but as far as i am aware only radio options are available?

I currently have no shipping modules installed just the standard zen cart installation

I only want to offer collection, flat rate and express delivery options

Thing is, Zencart has no way of knowing what the shipping charges will be until it knows what shipping method you're using and where the customer is located, so it can't add them to the cart summary.

I appreciate the responses, however i would like there to be a general one fee postage for all orders however give the buyer an option to select an upgraded postage if they wish.

Is there no way zencart can automatically get the customer location based on their ip? and then assume the correct postage price to add?

You can use MaxMinds geoip to do that but.....
That "assumes" that the customer is having it delivered to where they are placing the order
and that's NOT always the case.....

Better to use a module that uses the "delivery address" to work out the postage

Also, the information you get may not be accurate. If you look at my IP address, it will tell you I'm in a city almost forty miles (and many zip codes) away.

I understand that however city will not matter, its only the country that makes a difference.

Im primarily targetting the uk.

Also as it is cart summary i only want to give the customer an idea of postage price and generate a rough order total to give them an idea of total spend.

If they put a foreign address to their ip this will change when they actually checkout.

I dont feel just having a sub total is sufficient.

Then you're in for a round of custom coding, as I don't know of a mod that will do what you want.

For what it's worth, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I don't have any trouble understanding that an ecommerce website can't provide shipping costs if it doesn't know where I am.
