v151 to v153 problem with categories

Hello everyone:

I recently lost the individual who was kind enough to help me with a lot of things and now I am left with a few situations. I have a site that is up and running with version v151 and the problem has always been that I had no shipping module that was accurate enough, so I was not selling anything. Well, now I do, but on a "test" site that was built by "someone else" who is no longer around that is v153. This version has the new shipping module installed along with, I think, most of the add-ons that were installed on v151. My problem is that I have added and changed categories somewhat since the work was done to the "test" site. The first question is: How do I transfer the categories that are updated on the v151 site to the new v153 site without "messing" things up? The second questions is, after that is accomplished, how to I reverse things and make the original "site (v151) the "test" site and the new (v153) the "live site."

I hope I haven't confused anyone. I'm confused enough. I know that a lot of you are very bright. I still have a very difficult time grasping code and need a lot of help. I'm hoping that this shopping module is the answer to my prayers.

Is there no one who can help me with this? I can't believe with all of the expertise that we have in this forum that no one knows a way to get this done without redoing each category one at a time. Please, anyone?
