Default Filezilla - Is it Ok to Use Latest Version?

I have tried to resolve this question on my own and have come to a dead stop. Now I am going to the people I know I can rely on....namely the Zen Cart Forum.

I read somewhere (I don't remember where) that recent version(s) of Filezilla may have problems with security (Explicit FTP over TLS, etc, etc, and that it is not advisable to use the most recent update. I am now 3 updates behind and still without an answer. I am now running 3.10.1.1 and am encountering no problems (that I know of). My server (register.com) indicates no known issue.

Does anyone know of problems with FileZilla that would prevent me from updating?

    Thanks in advance,
    Phil

Sounds like (if silence can be a sound) FileZilla issues are not on anyone else's radar. I have upgraded and so far, so good. I learned a couple of things in the process: (1) if you are not using the latest version (currently 3.10.2), you are not supported, and (2) at least with my server people, your security level is related to which port you are logged into. So if I use port 22, I can do FTP over TLS.

    Thanks anyway...

I am using FileZilla for Linux (Ubuntu, Linux Mint) without significant problems. No idea where FileZilla fits in with Windows as I have ditched that OS long ago.

Some servers you will have to turn off encryption, works great.
