Default Cannot edit anything at all in admin.

This is the 3rd store front I have had installed this week. I went in and changed the admin folder. Added a template. Added ckeditor. When I log into admin I cannot change the template. I use the down arrow select the Gingham Blue, hit enter and nothing happens. I went into configure/my store/ html to change the editor. It is there but won't change to ckeditor. When I go into tools select define main page, then arrow down to ckeditor, the editor shows up but not all the buttons show up on the editor. I can fill in the info but there is no way to save it. So is the editor working right?

I had softalous install the 1.5.4 3 times and all 3 times I have had problems. My hosting co says it is the zencart. What am I doing wrong? I had a store at 1.5.1 and when updating to 1.5.4 it made a mess of things so this is why I am starting over. Has anybody had problems with ckeditor? The only other editor I see is Editor - Wyzz wysiwyg editor integration ZC Versions: v1.5.0 but didn't want to use it because it says nothing above 1.5.0.

    Help please

There are some known issues with ZC 1.5.4 depending on a multitude of setup attributes, a majority of the issues occur with those still using PHP 5.2.17 and below...

The first thing though is that the store is not being installed in accordance with the installation instructions that accompany the files downloaded from http://www.zen-cart.com/getit.php

While you seek for assistance here, with regards to the existing install, it seems that softaculous should be the ones resolving the issue; however, if wanting to learn/find out how to do it yourself or at least according to the designer's expectations, then definitely came to the right place. :)

OK I gave up on softalious and downloaded and did a fresh install. I downloaded and installed the template and check editor. I still cannot get the ck editor to work or get the template to change. I have read everything you asked me to read plus tons more. To change the template it's very simple. click on the arrow, choose your template and the change is made. Not on mine. click on the arrow, click on Gingham Blue and nothing. The files in the log files are htacess, index.html, index.php and ZC Install. I have read 1 readme_installation file, and the implementation-guide-v154. I followed ckeditor and went to Admin->Configuration->My Store->HTML Editor and click on ckeditor. It says sometimes it won't take effect until you log on and back on. I did that. I even tried shutting down and restart the entire computer. Where is my problem? Is there something I missed and needs to be turned on?

That's your issue - I am almost certain.

Do a manual install as per instructions contained in the docs folder of your downloaded install files. If you are still having problems let us know.

I did the fresh install that is what the what message #3 is about and I am still having the same problems. I cannot change the template or get the editor to work. I have deleted both and installed again. Checked each folder and they all match exactly.
