Need to verify customers shipping address STATE before allowed to checkout

Greetings All,

I have a new ZC store that I imported customer data from an older non ZC store. The problem is the customers address STATE information is missing.

The interesting things is ZC still allows checkout even though there is no STATE in the shipping address. The end results, other then not having a complete address, is the sales tax is not being included because of the missing state.

I would like to add some sort of check to see if the STATE is missing during the checkout process and require that the customer corrects this within their address book before they can complete the checkout process.

Suggest how I could do this!

You should be using the TABLE_ADDRESS_BOOK entry_zone_id

I was able to rebuild the address_book table with the correct entry_country_id and entry_zone_id from the old store data. Took a bit of time, over 6000 customers, most from 2 different countries. Don't want to do that again!
