According to the service information of the plan I paid for on my web hosting's website, the email sending method used is "SMTP, WEB MAIL".
1. Does that I mean I have to change the E-Mail Transport Method under Email Options from default "php" to "SMTP"?
2. Which E-Mail Transport Method option is better or easier to use (like with fewer connection problems, I browsed for related questions and saw quite a number of people asking about connection errors which look quite complicated to me)?
3. If I can still set my Zen Cart to send emails using PHP and keep the E-Mail Transport Method as default PHP, is there anything else I need to set up to make it work?
4. If I use PHP as the E-Mail Transport Method, am I right that I don't need to edit the following?
The current settings are:
SMTP Email Account Mailbox: YourEmailAccountNameHere
SMTP Email Account Password: YourPasswordHere
SMTP Email Mail Host: mail.EnterYourDomain.com
SMTP Email Mail Server Port: 25
5. If I use SMTP as the E-Mail Transport Method, am I right that I don't need to edit the following since the info box says they are "only required if using SMTP Authentication for email" so they are only required for SMTPAUTH?
The current settings are:
SMTP Email Account Mailbox: YourEmailAccountNameHere
SMTP Email Account Password: YourPasswordHere
SMTP Email Mail Host: mail.EnterYourDomain.com
SMTP Email Mail Server Port: 25
6. Does the E-Mail Transport Method chosen affect the choice of E-Mail Linefeeds? Is it better to keep E-Mail Linefeeds as default "LF" or change it to "CRLF"?
7. Convert currencies for Text emails: I'll sell my products in one currency only (Hong Kong Dollar) for now. I may sell them in US Dollar and Canadian Dollar as well later (to be converted from Hong Kong Dollar). Is it alright if I input US Dollar and Canadian Dollar now just in case I need to use them later (as I'm afraid I'll forget to edit this later)? How do I edit the setting?
Thanks!
