blank page when clicking checkout or paypal button in shopping cart

Just upgraded from 1.3.9h to 1.5.4

the image shows that the little arrows are gone from the last two entries.

and

when going to the shopping cart then clicking either the paypal or checkout button goes to a totally blank page.

this is in the log:

I verified that the shipping.php was in the folder and still uploaded a fresh one
I looked at the file and could not see 'ups' anywhere near those lines
In the modules/shipping folder there is no ups.php but it is not in the 1.5.4 zip either

Just upgraded from 1.3.9h to 1.5.4 ...

I've seen this happen sometimes when rebuilding a site and accidentally forgetting to record and remove modules before an upgrade (or forgetting to bring the modules over to the new site). Did you record your shipping and payment modules settings and remove those modules before upgrading?

The error message indicates the Zen Cart database believes you have a UPS shipping module installed (at /includes/modules/shipping/ups.php), however the file(s) for the UPS shipping module are missing.

The easiest solution is usually to bring over the missing files (either from the old site or preferrably by downloading the full set of files for the module - typically at least one module file and one language file).

Another potential solution if no longer using UPS for shipping is visit the Zen Cart admin page for shipping modules (and let it rebuild the list of installed / enabled shipping modules).

I'd also recommend going through all shipping and payment modules (via the Zen Cart administrative page)... Write down the settings for each... And then remove them... Download and install new versions as applicable... Then reapply the settings...

I will ask the owner but I don't think so. she is a drop shipper and I believe the contact does the shipping then sends her and customer the information.

I don't think she had anything but the free shipping mod turned on. I did check her old directories that I downloaded prior to starting this mess and yess there are several shipping files that are in her old folder so will transfer them now. thanks

The only thing that is is still doing in the shopping cart as well as a few other places is when clicking an empty shopping cart you are greeted with the ---I think, button code names

I am getting this here and on reviews page when they submit a review I get a sold out image plus text like that above and then if we allow the review it is totally empty.

Should I start a different thread for these issues?

If those shipping modules are no longer being used, you can now remove them via the Zen Cart administrative interface (modules -> shipping).

As noted this is a missing language define.

The Zen Cart "out of box" files containing TEXT_NO_PRODUCTS are "/includes/languages/<your languages>/index.php", "/includes/languages/<your languages>/advanced_search.php", and "/includes/languages/<your languages>/advanced_search_results.php". I typically do not directly edit these files (but one can) and instead use the "override" mechanism...

You can create specific alterations to the "default" language files by placing a copy in an "override" folder (use the same name as your theme). You can then make any the necessary changes in the copy. For example: "/includes/languages/<your languages>/blue-dps/index.php", "/includes/languages/<your languages>/blue-dps/advanced_search.php", and "/includes/languages/<your languages>/blue-dps/advanced_search_results.php".

Your call on which way to manage the changes... But either way those are the files I would start by checking (one can grab clean copies from the Zen Cart distribution to compare against).

Good question (which version of the theme is it based upon?). And did you make sure to rename all of the theme override folders when you changed the theme name to "blue-dps"?

I know a few things changed regarding how templates need to be coded between Zen Cart 1.3.x and the latest version of Zen Cart. Have you tried switching to "classic" to see if the problems exist there? (If I had to guess I would guess the text, css, and image related "issues" are related to the template and/or modifications made to the template).
