    Default syncing databases

    Hi,

I have searched, but since I have a consfusion in my head I am not sure about the results I get, so please bare with me, and help me clear my head.

Before getting into it, I would need to know the best way to approach the following, generally speaking, as besides the zen cart environement I have no further details yet.

I would need to create a b2b site, and have the info (mainly stocks, but orders etc. as well) updated real time on the zen cart db as well as the internal (existing not zen cart db).

What should I know, is it hard to implement, are there plugins, or else?

If I haven't been clear please let me know.

    Thank you

The biggest thing I see is what is the business need to maintain two independent databases that appear will share information? Why not operate/maintain everything under ZC?

Affectively would need to establish action at each database to communicate to the other if they are to be simultaneously updated. Either they push to each other or one pulls from the other at the time of need... With one not being a ZC database, would need to know/understand the difference in table/data relationship as compared to the ZC database structure and implement the appropriate relationships/interface functions/ties.

Yes, of course using only zen cart would be the first/best option, but there might be the chance of accounting, and fiscal stuff the other db could be running; and that is what has yet to be determined.

Thanks, now I have a better picture, though this going over my knowledge makes it even more appealing to do all in zen cart, given it would be an option.

This may be a pointer - although not a solution. I looked at this a couple of years ago:

Thank you, I'll look into it, and hopefully understanding it.

BTW how did you go about it, if you actually did go on with the project.
