Cannot Get Beyond The Database Information Page.

Following the instructions, I uploaded the files to the webserver and went to the zc_install directory. ':: Zen Cart® Setup - System Inspection' shows everything OK. When it comes to 'Database Setup', I have Wamp installed locally and successfully seeing phpMyAdmin as well as the Wampserver Homepage.

In phpMyAdmin, I click on Databases and go to 'Create database'. This is where I get confused. I created a database but can't see where I can assign a password to be referred to in Zen Cart setup.

Basically, 'Database Username', 'Database Password' and 'Database Name' are where I have problem. Does the fact that the WAMP side of things are running locally and the Zen Cart stuff is installing remotely?

I'm running Windows 7.

Have you tried from within your phpmyadmin to access the database to possibly create a table? At any time while accessing your phpmyadmin were you prompted for a username/password?

I'm creating a table now but I can see nothing that prompts me for login details. As of now I have a newly-created database and its table. I'm going to look at privileges to see if I can 'add' login details.

Still having issues!

Starting from scratch, I create a database. Then I create a user and assign that user to the newly-created database with a password. I pass these details on to Zen Cart installation and still get 'Connection to Database failed'. At this stage, I didn't populate the database with a structur, colums etc...

You may want to refer to the WAMP documentation again and look up how to assign users and their privileges to a database.

Got it working. When I followed Zen Cart's own instructions, they say upload the Zen Cart files to the webserver and run the install from there. I found a very good YouTube vid that showed in a few steps how to get it working via localhost. Zen Cart way was very misleading.
