Default Is ZenCart Right For Me?

    Hello Everyone!

I am trying to find a web store system that will fit my needs. Here are the top three requirements.

    1. All our products are delivered by one of our drivers to drop points. We need the store to provide a way of selecting which drop point they want to pick up from.
    2. We need to be able to sort orders by drop point. Preferably be able to print all invoices for a particular drop point too.
    3. Pay on delivery option.

To be honest, the hardest thing that I have yet to find is a way to pick drop points. If I could figure out a way to do that, I would be set.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Right now, ZC allows 5 entries in a customer's address book. If you had 100 drop points but, each user would never use more than four, you could populate their address book with the drop points they would select from for delivery.
Sorting invoices by address would be an adjustment to the mySql query.
COD is a built-in payment method.
    A little help with colors.

    Ok that sounds great!

One other thing I forgot to mention in the original post, is there a way to sell a product by the pound?

Yup, there are a few ways to address the "pound" aspect, but it can become a factor for the price of the product as well as the price of shipping.

Wonderful! Do you have a link to some documentation or something that could help me get that going?

Sort of depends on how weight becomes a factor... If I understood correctly, you are considering selling an item that is to be sold in units of a pound... So, basically when they make a purchase, they are buying 1, 2, 3, 4, etc... pounds of material... That would be the unit of their purchase... So like add 5 pounds of the item to the cart... No significant amount of revision necessary. Each unit of the product would be 1 pound, so buying 5 units would be added up as 5 pounds.. Then based on the shipping method, 5 pounds would be calculated (if weight is a factor of the shipping method) and the shipping price presented as part of the checkout/shopping cart...

As for "readmes", the FAQ is a great place to look, and I might suggest for this single aspect to look at the product setup. (https://www.zen-cart.com/content.php...and-attributes) I think there is some other similar/related areas, but will say that if results do not seem to come through a search from this site, then actually doing an internet search using your favorite search site will like point things back to a useful thread on this site. :) Just one of those things about the search engine of the software presenting this help forum.

There isn't a way to import a list of products is there? I doubt there is, but that would be awesome if you could import a spreadsheet or something!

Sure is. Two come to mind: Easypopulate v4 and Apsona.
