manufacturers sidebox has vanished

Hi, after having a few problems with the old version of Zencart, I have recently reinstalled a fresh copy v1.5.5a to my server. However, no matter what template I choose, and after resetting the Layout Boxes Controller, the manufacturers sidebox has vanished.

I have made sure that the sideboxes/manufacturers.php is on in the Layout Boxes Controller and it still does not appear. I didnt have any problems with this in the old version and was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction.

I can still add manufacturers from the admin panel, its just the sidebox is not displayed on the homepage or any other page.

I am using the responsive_classic template, but even the classic green and any other templates I download, do not display manufacturers sidebox
