How do I patch database from 1.5.1 to 1.5.4?

Trying to get a 1.5.4 install running with my old database.

I get this at the top of the admin panel: Your database appears to need patching to a higher level. See Tools->Server Information to review patch levels.

In server information it says:

Zen Cart 1.5.4

Database Patch Level: 1.5.1

v1.5.1 [2013-07-24 15:12:45] (New Installation)
v1.5.1 [2013-07-24 15:12:45] (New Installation)

How to I patch the database?

There should be a big button that reads 'Update Database Only'.

I'm not entirely sure which step of the zc_install script this is shown on though. You'll almost certainly need to go past the screen asking for the database login details first though. Just step through the screens until you see it. Take note of any warnings such as 'Pressing this will wipe out your database' ;-)

I never see any button during the install. Once installed, if I run the zc_install again, I get the option to upgrade database or run install on the page that has the checklist.

When I upgrade the database, it ends up not working. I get back to the admin screen and I have no customers and no items.

Ok, for the fresh install the bottom of the checklist page says:

Ready to Install? (This will wipe any existing data. You are NOT in Upgrade mode!!!)

It only gives me the option to re-check or install. The other two options only show up after it is installed.

Prior to running zc_install again, did you reupload the zc_install directory? If I remember correctly there is a file or two that get removed/modified after it has been run once...
