Prices for customized templates

Starting with a template bought, in your opinion what would be the right price for a custom-made templates, 500, 1,000, $ 1,500 or more?

It really depends upon the features you request and how complex they are

One must weigh cost vs return or anticipated return

Ask yourself - "will the template I want really translate into sales" or is it just something that you think you want

It's software, there is no 'right price'.

Are you looking into a having a custom template made, or are you the one that has been approached to make a custom template?

The difference: People would generally change more to create a template than they would be prepared to buy it for, and at the end of the day it boils down to how much a customer is willing to pay.

As a creator there is also the question of 'is this template only going to be used by this one customer, or can/will it be resold to many customers'? It is easier to sell 10 copies @$100 each than 1 copy @$1000

A given customer may decide that $1000 for a template that no one else has to be excellent value, while others will never see it as having the same value.

So, once again, there isn't a 'right price' - In fact there isn't even an average or ballpark price.

(Cobra)Excellent reflection, you want a templates to increase sales is a problem I have tried so many who rely on the end that I wonder if it is better to rely on our forums or people in charge.


(Rodg) I already have a custom template and would like to make changes to specifications and be sure that they are not copied.
