Default Why doesn't the HTML content show up ?

    Hi there,

I need your help about this website: http://www.wellnessessentialoil.com

Yet, when I click on both "How to use oil" and "How to Buy" on the main menu bar, the HTML content which I have keyed in at the EZ pages do not show up.

What could I have missed out? Please advise me, thank you.

This looks like a partial blank page, see if the following helps resolve the issue: http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?124-blank-page

Try removing all HTML content from one of these EZ pages and replace it with a simple piece of plain text that reads simply "Hello world".

If this doesn't display please re-activate the 'classic' temple and check the EZpages again (both the plain text 'hello world' as well as one with HTML).

    Please report your findings.

What I'm trying to determine here is.
    1) Whether the problem somehow relates to your HTML markup , and
    2) Whether the problem is specific to whatever template you are using.

Your findings will determine what you should do next to resolve the issue.

    Cheers
    RodG

ps. Don't forget to check your log files for possible clues.

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

Unlike the two items "Home" and "Contact" which have no problem when clicked, and have the URLs like these:
    http://www.wellnessessentialoil.com/...age=contact_us
    http://www.wellnessessentialoil.com/...ain_page=index

the items which don't show when clicked have URLs which do not point them to the name of the item but numbers:
    http://www.wellnessessentialoil.com/...age=page&id=18
    http://www.wellnessessentialoil.com/...age=page&id=22

Could there be some easier solution to solving my problems than what was suggested in the link you sent in your earlier reply?
Please kindly advise me. Thank you

    Dear RodG,

I tried what you suggested, remove all the HTML content from one of these EZ pages (which didn't show up when clicked), and replace it with the word "Hello World", still nothing showed up.

Then I went a step further and re-activated the "Classic" template and the Hello World showed up. Similarly, the HTML content of the other EZ page also showed up.

Looks like there is some progress here, please advise me what to do next. Thank you.

Also, how to check the log files and what should I be looking for in the log files?

No worries. The problem is related to the template that you are using.

How long have you been using this template? How long have you been having this problem? What's the name/origin of the template?

The problem could be an incomplete template installation.

Using FTP or your cPanel File manager, look for any recent files in the /yourstore/logs/ folder. You should be able to view their contents directly from FTP/FileManager.

You will be looking for anything that appears relevant. If nothing appears relevant then try accessing one of the EZpages again and look for any newly created log file that coincides with this access.

Ideally there should only be 3 files on the /logs/ folder .htaccess, index.html & index.php. If you have dozens/hundreds of files ending with ".log" they can all be deleted to make it easier to identify *current* problems.

    Cheers

    Dear RodG,

    Thank you for your assurance.

Relieved that it is due to the theme and not something more complicated. This is my friend's website installed by someone else. She bought this theme Herbally from templatation.com in Feb 2015, the person did up a basic website for her and then left it as it is. I could only hazard a guess that the problem has always been there.

If you think it is an incomplete installation, what is the next course of action you would recommend to solve the problem?

I have just entered the log folder via FTP, and omg, there were so many myDEBUG-xxxxxx.log files, so I went ahead to delete them as you suggested. There is also a Zen install log in the logs folder, shall I remove that too?

While I just received notification of this message, I had seen that rod stepped in to basically finish helping, but wanted to address the concern of the uri formatting expressed above. The uri for the brokenpages was prperly formatted to indicate that the content will be an ez page with the specific page number identified at the end. This page number aligns with the number you would see on the admin screen on the left side when reviewing the ez pages.

As to "simplifying" the instruction of the link, rod basically did that by specifically asking to review the logs directory.

Thank you mc12345678 for answering to my question, it was sent out just before RodG took over to help me.
I don't see the URL of the 2 items which cannot be open any different even after I remove all the extra log files.

Based on Rod's prognosis, it seems my problem has to do with the template I use.

So, I would like to ask what I should do next, may either you or RodG advise me what to do next? Thank you

In a way, continue on with his standing guidance. Reenable your previous template (if you wish to stay with it) and access one of the problem ez-pages. Review the logs folder for newly generated logs, evaluate the log information, post as necessary but be sure to not post information that shouldn't be public (admin directory, database credentials, etc... If included in the file). When/if posting please select the # button in the messagebox menu toolbar just before pasting the contents. This will provide code tags and make reviewing the content easier after posting.

Otherwise choose a new template that is designed for your version of ZC, there are several available on this website. Also could go back to the template author with the issue to have them resolve it.
