Sold Out Messages

I am able to reproduce the error.
It's due to Inactivity our website shows the "Login Time Out" page when customer refreshes after after some idle time (I tried after 40 minutes or so)
The cart contents are lost too.
What could we do to eliminate this issue ?

How does this....

Many of our customer are complaining they are getting "Sold Out" message while placing their orders.

Whatever we sell is always completely in stock.

We are not able to replicate this error from our side.

What could be look into

Then produce this error that the customers are seeing?

Neither can I.

Do a search in Admin using Developers Tool Kit and search for BUTTON_IMAGE_SOLD_OUT

Also look for $return_button

Then post the answers here, it could give us a clue if changes have been made to the standard code.

It's actually the "Login Time Out" page which is coming up, it has the button which says "Sold Out"
I am trying to increase the session.gc_maxlifetime to 3600 from the current 900
What else could I look into ?

Thanks for the link via PM. I added a product to the cart and went as far as I could go without paying. Then left it all for about 25 minutes, returned to the site, reloaded and did not get any error messages or "Sold Out". So, I am afraid I can't put my finger on this issue.

If not after 25 minutes, I do get this after 1 hour or more than that.
The issue is even if we are shown the "Login Time Out" we are actually still logged in and we loose the cart content.
