    Default Model # by attributes

My client has a different model number per attribute. They sell jewelery and each item comes in gold, silver, or even zinc oxide each with its own model number. I know how to add the gold, silver, and zinc as an attribute for each product, I don't know how to change the model # for each attribute.

    Is this possible?

You might check out one of the "Stock By Attributes" plugins... I suspect they may fit the bill (or could be modified to fit the bill).

Potteryhouse's stock by attributes verson 1.5.4 (compatible with ZC 1.5.3 and 1.5.4) supports individual fields for attributes/attribute combinations... It's called a custom_id, but effectively can be used as a model number.

Thank you. I noticed Stock by Attributes says it compatible with ZC 1.5.1 in the plugin section but in the forum it states it has been updated for 1.5.4. This will work!

"It" has been updated; however, unless someone else has submitted it to the Zen-Cart forum, the current working copy for ZC 1.5.3/1.5.4 is available from Github at this location.

I have also created a combined copy from my own Github repository in the interim and need to communicate with potteryhouse and jeking about how we want that combined version to be "stored". At the moment the version for ZC 1.5.1 is in a separate storage location from the version for ZC 1.5.3/1.5.4 yet other than a few modified core files the code is the same. In some cases the modified core code is simply the addition of a new notifier.

...and there is "Products' Options' Stock Manager" which does exactly what you want.
    I use it.
