When I run my site through an online checker, it says unless I have duplicate pages (which I don't) I should remove the canonical link tag. How would I do that?
Thanks.
Alan.

Why would you want to do that??
It is supported by the major SE's since about 2009

I have no idea! I'm just believing reports on seositechecker.com when I shouldn't be.
Be careful about your assumption that you don't have any duplicate pages.
If you have linked products, you will have duplicate pages.
If your site supports both HTTP and HTTPS you will have duplicate pages.
If you use a URL rewriter you will have duplicate pages.
If none of the above apply then you probably don't *need* the canonical links, but they aren't going to hurt anything either. The canonical and the real link will both be the same.

Thanks for the help and replies. I do indeed have plenty of duplicate pages as there are many linked products.
