Default Can't Get Tare to Calculate

I would like to have Package Tare: Small to Medium: Added Percentage:Weight to calculate. Is there some switch or piece of code that prevents it from calculating? I am on ZC 1.5.4 and Tare won't work in neither my custom storefront nor Classic.

I have run offline Excel simulations using product weight and preferred percentage:weight settings, and the results would be perfect if I could only get Zen Cart to calculate Tare.

    Please advise.

What are you entering as percentage:weight to calculate?

    I have used a variety of settings: 80:0, 10:0, 10:1, 0:2, 80:5, 0:10 etc. etc.

When you do it, what are you seeing? For example, if I add 2 lbs, so I use 0:2, when I go to shopping cart, I see unadjusted weight at the top, but if I use shipping estimator, it shows adjusted weight.

Well, something very interesting happened. I put in 1 pound for product weight itself, then entered 0:10 for percentage:weight. On the Shopping Cart, the weight showed 1 pound. On the Shipping Estimator, the weight showed 1 pound. However, the available postage rates were such that I was shipping an 11-pound package. When I changed the percentage:weight to 0:1, the postage rates dropped like a stone. Does this mean that the Tare calculator is working, but you never see the results - anywhere?

Yes, it is working. So what have you set for your settings now? If I understand your chart you want 80:.4375 for 80% and 7 ounces.
