Attributes are being remembered from previous order

I have a textbox for every product. An issue that I have noticed is that if a customer adds the product to cart with text in the textbox, then goes back to the product again, the textbox is still filled out.

Do you know why this is? And how do I remove this feature? This is not a case of the customer pressing "back". Even if they browse other products and go back to that product, it is still filled out with the previous text.
