Having a table based pricing with a pull down menu for quantity

I sell custom printed items.

I would like the quantity box for some items to have a pull down menu with fixed quantity increments, like 100, 250, 500, 1000. though it may be different for different products. I would have each quantity to reference a fixed price for that quantity. I would prefer it to work this way, rather than to try to come up with some kind of discount rule based pricing, because sometime the price increments do not follow neat rules.

I am a novice user of zencart with the basic install so far. My site is underdevelopment

My question is how to go about getting the pricing to work as I desire? I have searched for plug-ins, faqs, and how to's and have yet to find one that suggests a solution.

I have.

It seems that you can modify things to provide details after picking a quantity which is good. I am unclear if this feature will allow you to modify the "quantity" built into ZC, and convert the quantity to an attribute with a pull down menu?
