Active Attributes

Is there a way to know if an attributes (name) have active products using it and which are those if so?

For example if I have the attribute "COLOR", can I know from admin how many products are using that attribute?

Go to your admin's Catalog->Option Name Manager. Find the option named Color and, scary as it sounds, click the Delete button associated with that name.

A confirmation screen will display, showing either that it's OK to delete the name (i.e. no products are associated) or will show the list of products using that option name. Be sure to click the cancel button from that confirmation screen!
