Hosting Company forcing upgrade to PHP7

Hi,

A client of mine reports that his hosting company is instituting a mandatory upgrade to PHP7 this coming May (or else he has to pay more than double his monthly hosting fee to maintain his use of PHP 5.5). Am I correct on two points:

1) ZenCart v.1.5.4 is not compatible with PHP7
2) ZenCart v.1.5.5 has not been officially released

In my (ever so humble) opinion, his hosting company is being unreasonable in abandoning PHP5 so quickly but it's kind of out of my hands. If my two assumptions above are not correct, would appreciate the correction so I can best advise my client. If they are correct, is it likely that ZC 1.5.5 will be released before May and I can upgrade him in time for his hosting company's ultimatum?

We expect that v155 will be ready within a month.

But I agree the host is being a bit aggressive... And will probably experience a lot of kickback from multiple clients. Interesting approach.
