That template was built on ZC v1.5.0. You need at least v1.5.1 to benefit from the built-in spam prevention.

You said you're using v1.5.4 .... so , you need to compare all the /includes/templates/template_default files against your /includes/templates/templatemonster_37597 files and merge the things that are missing FROM template_default INTO your templatemonster mess.

Or get them to do it for you if you think you can convince them that they misled you when they said it was compatible.
