Which version of Zen will be compatible with Windows Vista Home Basic Version 6 please?

You will need a server with php, mysql , apache: http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?...o-run-zen-cart

xampp or wamp are tools that are easy to install and have this server on your machine ( but only useful if you want or need to develop the webstore in your windows machine ).

But Zen Cart has nothing to do with the operating system.

Check xampp or wamp.

xamp or wamp are mostly for development purposes only - one should not attempt to operate a shop from a home based machine. Most ISP's download at respectable speeds but uploading is normally 1/10th this speed. And operating a shop from home you will be uploading page after page of information

If you want to develop locally then xamp or wamp is great - if you want to operate a shop get reliable hosting

This is the operating system in a CLIENT computer (eg, the one you use at home or in the office).

If you want to set up a webshop using zencart as the software system, then you would do so at a WEB HOST company, that runs a webhosting service.

The remote location of the webshop (on the host server) has nothing to do with Vista or any other version of windows, on a client device.
