Coupon on just one item?

Is it possible to create a coupon that applies to just one product? I have a new product coming up that I'd like to promote to a specific group of people with a coupon code. But I don't want to give them the same discount for an entire purchase, just for buying that specific item. It doesn't look as though this is possible, but I thought I'd ask.

You'll be looking to define a coupon "with restrictions" ... specifically to that product. The Zen Cart coupon-manager should guide you through that process.

Using zencart v1.5.4, we do it all the time if I understand your need.
Not sure if v1.5.5 changed any functionality. My v1.5.5 sandbox is not playing nice today with admin login.

Admin: StoreCredit/Coupons: Coupon Admin

Create your discount/coupon code as desired.
INSERT

Now look in the right side margin.
Select Restrictions

Category Restrictions
TOP: DENY: Add

Product restrictions
Scroll to category Name where the product resides and select
Now look to the right
Find the product name
Change Deny to ALLOW
Click UPDATE

You're done.

SMH. I do not know how I managed not to see that. I set up a coupon code and saved it, and completely missed the rest of the options. Sorry, guys, and thanks.
