How to specify Time Zone since v152 (TimeZone, TZ, GMT)

Assuming you have an up to date PHP and Zen Cart, you no longer need plugins to do this - just edit

includes/extra_configures/set_time_zone.php

and set the time zone variable $TZ for your timezone.

Isn't this or wasn't this the reason for that file specifically? Just curious what initiated this post as for someone that has been working with ZC now for a few years, that seemed like that was all that was needed was the change in the file. Didn't seem like anything "new" now a year and a half later...

Yes, this is the reason for this file. It was introduced in 1.5.2. Prior to that you needed a plugin. That's why I said, "you no longer need plugins to do this."
I had forgotten how to do this, and the search I did led to old plugins and outdated advice. But I'll update the title of this thread so it says "Post 1.5.2" rather than "New" for clarity.

Ahhh, now I get it. Note to self and all those that continue searching for something "newer" to address the timezone issue. Yeah, I know that I find myself trying to recall where it's tucked away but had also stored such a link in a message folder I have for those little tidbits. :)
