    help question How do I change the Welcome Email?

    Greetings Fellow Zenners,

    I recently installed ZC v1.5.1 for a friend as she has opened a shop selling beauty products. FYI, the site is www.dropsofwater.co.uk. There are no plugins or add-ons installed. PHP version is 5.4.19 and MySQL is v5.5.43.

    She is very happy with the work so far and one question we had was how to change the text and the logo of the Welcome Email received when one registers with the site?

    In one of the tutorials from Picaflor Azul the commentator refers to Admin > Tools > Welcome Email as a place to make this change but this option no longer exists, it would seem and I noted that the tutorial was using ZC v1.3.9, so has likely been removed.

    I took the liberty of creating a new header.jpg file and uploading that to the /email folder in the root. This has not had any effect as when I signed up as a test user I received the exact same Welcome Email which I got when I initially signed up, including the ZenCart header graphic.

    So there are basically two things I'd like to change - the header graphic of the Welcome Email as well as the actual text of the email itself.

    The tutorial is probably still accurate.
    The Admin->Tools->Welcome Email screen was always only a "preview" viewer thing. Creating an account will accomplish the same thing.

    Several things to note:
    a) the language files affect both text and html emails
    b) the html emails won't appear if you don't have them enabled (sounds like you already do)
    c) the html emails are built from the template files in the /email/ folder
    d) the images are also served from the /email/ folder (well, unless you change the paths yourself in the email template files, which usually isn't necessary).

    I suspect your "I'm getting the same logo" is a result of your email program having cached the old image. Pressing F5 (or CTRL+F5 in some cases) to refresh the page sometimes helps. All depends on what email client you're using. You could also right-click on the image, choose "Copy URL", and then open that URL in your browser.

    If the text itself hasn't gotten updated then you might have edited language files for a different template than what your site is actually using.
