    Default ZC 1.5.5 with MySQL 5.0.96 ??

I have been asked to upgrade a client's site from 1.3.9d to the latest (nothing new to be honest....). The site currently runs on PHP 5.2, so I had to ask the client to make their webhost install different PHP versions with PHP selector which they meanwhile implemented.

The server is currently running MySQL 5.0.96-community-log which is fine for ZC 1.3.9d.

How (if at all) would a ZC 1.5.5 site cope with this old MySQL 5.0.96 version considering the server specs in the FAQ's state 'Zen Cart v1.5.5 expects MySQL 5.1 to 5.7'?

    Cheers / Frank

At first cursory glance I'm not finding any glaring "breaking" issues. But it seems to be nearly impossible to find a list of feature-changes from MySQL that far back: They only publish docs for 5.6 and 5.7 now.

I'm sure there was a reason why it was mentioned as 5.1 ...... but it's possible that it might work fine with 5.0 even though both are from like 2008-2012 era.

Thanks Doc, don't get it that some hosts are still hanging on to old PHP and MySQL versions.

Guess my best bet is to give it a try with 1.5.5a in a sub folder and flick the PHP selector to 5.6 for testing purposes.

    Hi all,

Here are the online version of MySQL 5.0 manual (Can google by MySQL 5 Manual to search older manual)
    https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19078-01...ql-refman-5.0/

Or you can try download the CentOS 5.11 from centos.org to build a VM testing Linux as a platform testing

You can see the build in version package of CentOS there
    https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=centos

    Hope this help

    Best Regards,

All solved, host did what they should have done a long time ago ie updating MySQL version to the latest. Site upgrade to ZC 1.5.5a went well.

    Thanks again / Frank
