Updating 1.3.9g to 1.5.5a issues

hi, i have not been a long time on the forum now and had to create a new user.
I am currently testing an update from 1.3.9g to 1.5.5a (php version is 52). I have followed the instructions available at www.zen-cart.com/content.php?148
As i am not a professional, i do it as a hobby, i am facing the following questions:

the instructions at the link above state:

EDIT your "/zen_new/includes/configure.php" file and ensure that the DIR_FS_CATALOG and DIR_WS_CATALOG and DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE (and other path settings too) correctly match your NEW directory structure on the server.

can i have a list of all the path settings that must be changed as i am not sure which should be considered a path name.

Also, when i complete the database upgrade, the test website has a warning at the top saying "NOTICE: The website is currently Down For Maintenance to the public". This does not bother me much, as i know it can be turned off via the admin panel. However, when i open the admin log in page i am not able to log in. When i enter the user and pass, and click on submit i receive a "this page cannot be displayed" message.
Any suggestions? Could this be a result of me not changing the correct paths in the configure.php files?

The login error probably has to do with this bug : Chrome Browser 54.0.2840.xx cannot log into admin
