Site is midwestglobalgroup.com, running Zen Cart 1.5.5b (recently upgraded to this which is when my problems began). "Payeezy JS" payment module, php version 5.6. MySQL 5.1.63

Site is running but I am having problems processing payments. When one enters their credit card data and presses "confirm" they receive this message:

Unable to process payment due to a communications error. You may try
again or contact us for assistance. (60)


Can anyone provide insight on how I can possible find and fix this problem?

There are some test files in the extras folder that can be used to identify if your server is able to communicate successfully with the various payment processors and other locations.

These files as memory serves include extras/curltester.php and extras/ipncheck.php. Additionally you could turn on debugging for the payment processor, attempt a payment and then look in the logs directory for the debug logs of the payment attempt and for any other issues that might be of concern.

Also, I'm not sure and it may be unrelated, but there might have been some updates associated with that processor in either 1.5.5c or d.

Your server is not compatible with modern secure communications.

Point your hosting company to http://midwestglobalgroup.com/extras/curltester.php and ask them to fix the server's certificate chains and OpenSSL implementation.

That curltester.php file is a standalone file that implements basic secure CURL communications, which lets you point your hosting company to that file so they can't point fingers at Zen Cart. They can view exactly what that file is doing for communications, without passing the buck.

Properly securing/configuring the server is the hosting company's job. Only they have the necessary access to fix this simple misconfiguration problem.
