My original question was about text appearing on an otherwise blank page instead of a payment confirmation message.

The text was "/my site folders/includes/modules/payment/square_webPay.php:333". I don't like the idea of site visitors inadvertently seeing the names of folders on my site along with file names with possible parameters.

i am still not sure how that is a security concern associated with this payment module.

the code that you are using is open source and available for anyone to download. i agree with not wanting your site visitors to see code and line numbers; but this is not a payment module security concern.

and the resolution of that problem (displaying of error logs on a public facing website) is more about your server configuration that anything to do with zen-cart and any of its associated payment modules.

some of us take on the responsibility of protecting sensitive credit card data seriously. the penalties for failure to do so can be extreme.

i would suggest you be more cognizant prior to posting a security problem on your server as a security concern associated with payment modules.

I've been forced to create a new square account because my ABN changed a few years ago and they are going to freeze my existing account.

I've followed instructions to get a new ID and secret, and have logged into square from the plugin, however the location id in the module settings is not updating - should I be concerned?

Are you running an ad-blocker or other browser related security plugin?

only other thought is you have defines a currency code that matches with Square?

I have not used any ad blocker.


I have tried regular and opc. same error.

Did you have an earlier version of SWP installed, or no. If not, you configured the mod in Modules>>Payment Modules, correct?

If you had an earlier version, you will want to uninstall the new version through the payment modules and then re-install it. Be sure to remove any previous SWP files if previously installed.
