Does anyone know of/have a chat module (preferably free of course) that works with 1.5.8 (1.5.8a)? Or is everything an add-on thru a 3rd "party" (i.e. Chatra, MyLiveChat, etc)...

Take a look at tawk.to - it's 100% free and comes loaded with tons of features. I use it myself and love it. There's just a code snippet that you need to add to your site (ie. tpl_footer.php or html_header.php) and it's on.

I have seen people successfully use tawk.to as well.
