Simple payment method

Hi

Up until now I have been running an ebook website that has been supported by donations alone.

Going forward I want to sell these for £1 a time which will help covr the costs of servers.

I already have a link for new books that takes the user to a contact form to advise me that they have paid but really would like that link to go to a simple payment form (BACS or Paypal) that once payment has been sent will provide them with a download link. I dispensed with customer registration a long time ago so not sure how difficult that would be to go back to. I downloaded a new version of Zen-Cart and the payment system doesn't seem to work.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Not sure what you mean by payment system not working, can you elaborate?
If you're planning on selling ebooks, you might look into Downloadable Products: https://docs.zen-cart.com/user/products/ - there are several topics explaining downloads.

PayPal comes built-in with Zen Cart - all you need is a business account on PayPal to get your API keys and put that into your PayPal Express plugin and you're good to go. BACS is basically your Money Order plugin (also built-in), but you'll need to manually update order status once you receive cleared payment and then customer will only then be able to download the items.
