    Default Trouble Uploading Images

Last winter I upgraded a Zen Cart store to version 1.5.8. When we try to add a new product and upload an image
    Code:
    wheel brooch 1.jpg.JPG
    we get an error message
    Code:
    IMAGE FILE IS MISSING
next to Product Image in the admin interface. Issue happens on both Windows 10 and an iPad.

I am just starting to look in to this, but has anyone faced a similar issue? Or does anyone have a suggestion which debug logs to search?

Both the regular upload tool and the Image Handler plugin have this issue. The new product appears but with NO PICTURE AVAILABLE displayed. I can provide more details once I have dug up my notes on this project.

wheel brooch 1.jpg.JPG ... really? Not only does that file's name have embedded blanks (which can be an issue on some OS's), it's got a double jpg (one to end its name and another to identify its file-extension).

Just rename the file to be wheel-brooch-1.jpg.

    Agreed.
It may be your using windows and not showing file extentions. Id remove the last JPG
Open the file in an imaging editor and save as something without spaces and upload that file though the admin

The file name with spaces and a double extension was my first guess too, but so far changing the name does not seem to work. I hope to have a more thorough update tomorrow.

I was able to upload the images with copies of the files from the iPad using the Admin interface and Image Handler 5.3.4. I used file names like image01.jpeg, image02.jpeg, image03.jpeg Perhaps the spaces in the file names or the double file extension was the issue. At first glance I don't see anything relevant in the logs.

I was able to upload files with the following names using Image Handler 5.3.4 on my Linux box

    'wheel brooch 2.jpg'
    'wheel brooch 2.jpg.jpg'

I like the idea that the error had something to do with Linux or FTP and file names with spaces or double extensions but I can no longer reproduce the bug. Not sure if there are any other logs worth searching in case they record the past failures to upload.
